You can drown out the sound of the illegal-alien marches in congressional offices
TV, radio, newspapers and the internet will be filled with images and sounds from the mass marches all day today.
But these demonstrations for amnesty and for massive increases in the importation of foreign workers and dependents don't have to be the dominant message.
MAKE SURE THE CONGRESSIONAL FAX MACHINES ARE HUMMING WITH IMMIGRATION REDUCTION MESSAGES TODAY:
We will have new faxes to send by mid-morning. As always, you can send all faxes for free.
PLEASE PHONE THOSE CONGRESSIONAL OFFICES, AS WELL:
I know that the majority of you have never made one of these phone calls. But isn't today time to do something extra for the country? You have two Senators and one Representative. Pledge to yourself that you will call at least one of them today. A one-minute phone call is long enough if you just want to quickly identify yourself and say one thing that you most feel about the illegal marches.
WHAT IF 300,000 NUMBERS USA MEMBERS SHOWED AS MUCH DETERMINATION WITH FAX AND PHONE TODAY AS A MILLION PRO-ILLEGAL MARCHERS DO ON THE STREETS?
Folks, I usually relish and admire every bit of activism you can provide in your busy schedules.
But I have to challenge you today to fax and phone even if it is NOT convenient.
There is a good chance today that far fewer than a million will hit the streets while calling for an amnesty.
There are 300,000 of us in the NumbersUSA internet network alone. If all of us would do at least one thing today, our efforts would totally drown out any sense that the marchers are more prominent -- OR SCARY -- than regular voters contacting them from home and work.
DEMOCRATIC SENATORS ESPECIALLY NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU -- THEY SAY THEIR CALLS ARE RUNNING IN FAVOR OF AMNESTY
Some people are reporting that Democratic Senators' offices are saying that the bulk of their phone calls are coming from people who want illegal aliens to have U.S. citizenship.
If this is true, it is happening for a couple of reasons.
No. 1: Too many activists on our side have given up on Senate Democrats because they have been so overwhelmingly in favor of amnesty.
But we should never stop letting them know how much their constituents hate their position. At the very least, we need to deny them the ability to honestly say that the majority of their constituents seem to favor an amnesty.
No. 2: You may also have seen reports that this year big phone rooms have been set up so that the marchers can make calls to Congress and amplify their voice.
That is all the more reason why you should make as many phone calls as possible to Congress today. Not only will you improve the tally sheet but you may block the marchers from getting their calls through.
