You say Islamophobic like its a bad thing

Stevie Ray Vaughn and his bass player Tommy Shannon were walking through a Dallas shopping mall once early in his career, before he had attained any public recognizability, and as they were standing on the escalator Stevie mumbled to Tommy "why do people always seem to be staring at us", and Tommy claims he just had to break out in laughter as he stood there looking at Stevie in his flaming red pants, wild shirt, alligator boots, and red hat with conchos and an 18" feather sticking up, and told him "Stevie they are staring at you man". Stevie was dressed appropriately for his world, but stuck out like a sore thumb in average daily society.

I sometimes get a similar reception when I mingle with your basic normal American, either at work, social gatherings, or at some non-political blogs. I usually avoid initiating a conversation regarding religion or politics with relatives and friends, but at times I find myself reluctantly serving as a sounding board for their POVs, and I have to sit there with a straight face as I hear such well thought out opinions as "that damn Bush is gonna start a war with the Chinese next", or "I don't care what they say I think Saddam was behind the 9-11 attacks", and "I bet when the astronauts went to the moon they saw heaven as they went through it, but the government covered it up". I usually give them the old silent pretending to care nod, hoping that if I shut up, maybe they will too. But on the rare occasion that I do fulfill my desire to shatter the factual basis of their deeply held opinions, they usually just sit there with their mouth open staring back at me like I am from another planet.

There is no denying the fact that a very large percentage of our fellow Americans don't seem to have a clue whats at stake in the war on terror, but I often ask myself if I am in fact overly concerned about the threat posed by our enemy. Why should I bear the burden of giving a shit about the terrorist getting their hands on nuclear weapons and delivering them to western population centers, when most people seem to think the possibility is remote enough not to concern themselves with defending against the threat at all costs at this time.

Dymphna recently posted excerpts from some Vanity Fair paid commenter sayin:

"people who comment at LGF are “a pathological rash,” uncivilized brutes with a “decapitation complex” who get off on “death porn.”"

Even though I don't regularly comment at Little Green Footballs, I do think I could hang with the most uncivilized brute there as far as gettin off on death porn goes. I have harbored a healthy despise for Islamic society ever since Carter's cowardly response to the Iranian hostage situation emboldened the Islamists, and so by the time 9-11 inevitably rolled around, twenty two years of watching my fellow Americans get violently and indiscriminately murdered by these religiously motivated natural born killers was already getting old.

I have already come to the conclusion that these Islamically brainwashed idiots are going to keep escalating the conflict to the point that the eradication of their society as a whole is going to become our only remaining choice at some point in the future. The only other realistic choice I see is that we just grow to accept their constantly escalating attacks on our society until entire cities are sacrificed on the alter of our prized notions of civility.

I, somewhat arrogantly no doubt, think my constantly evolving POV in regards to Islam's threat to our society is a little more reality based than the average Joe on the street who couldn't find Mecca on a map, but in the big picture, what I think is irrelevant because the average Joe's opinion is the one that is more likely to get worked into American foreign policy. America's tactics and strategy in the war on terror must pass the litmus test of compromising with our civil liberties, our enemy's human rights, and must reflect our collective notions of fairness, compassion, and measuring our responses so as not to flaunt our military superiority over this uniquely inferior but deadly enemy.

What is this enemy going to have to do to convince the average global and American peace & freedom loving citizen that it is worthy of a total war campaign that lets no self-imposed regulations stand in the path of victory?

I realize that I probably read too much news, but virtually every single day Islam's cultural warriors commit acts of violent aggression and war on other societies. The blood of Infidels and the "not crazy enough" Muslims is spilled somewhere on the planet everyday in the name of Allah. This enemy's goals are well documented, he is satisfying his cultural tendencies for bloodletting in the name of doing his religious duty to spread the undisputed dominance and influence of Islam to all corners of the world. He is screaming to us that he is waging a holy war of annihilation against us as he is sawing off the heads of our people, and I appear to be in the minority of people that believe what our enemy is telling us his plans for us are. Apparently I am an Islamophobe for taking him and his threats seriously.

Yet all the nations and societies that bear the brunt of being targeted by the Islamic cultural warriors refuse to respond to the repeated attacks against them in a way that assures they will stop. Does anybody really think there wont be another attack in Russia, Europe, Israel, or America? We know there will be, yet we are not seriously considering any strategy that assures they wont or cant mount future attacks. We over-complicate the solution by trying to fight the threat on our terms of gentlemanly warfare instead of adopting their tactics and exceeding the magnitude of brutality using all means we have at our disposal. Thats the same mistake the British made a couple hundred years ago in America. Are we repeating the same mistakes the Neanderthal made when modern man migrated into Europe by sticking to our preferred tactics even though they are not proving themselves to be adequate to deter future attacks against us.

I cant quite put my finger on why the civilized world is not responding to the global spread of Islamic violence with the same zeal for forcing an unconditional surrender out of them that we used to reserve for our "real" enemies. Obviously the generally prevailing consensus is that we want to be victimized some more before we respond in a more permanently effective fashion. I guess the assumption being that someday the enemy might voluntarily decide to reciprocate some of our compassion back at us and cease his attacks on us without us ever having exceeded his level of violence and brutality, but I, being an unrepentant redneck Islamophobe don't see that ever happening, as long as they have the capacity to inflict harm on us they will exercise it, and the only solution, ugly as it may be, is to remove the society that harbors the terrorists and shares their dreams of global caliphate, from the global human equation. And the key to avoiding being a victim of a future terrorist Nuclear attack is simply to constantly destroy their capacity to produce or steal one until we decide to pull the trigger ourselves on their universal extermination.

Maybe its because of the Islamophobia that is apparently deeply rooted in my POVs has partially blinded me, but I don't really see any major holes in the logic of my arguments. Perhaps my hatred for the enemy hides the potential for his eventual peaceful reformation from my perception, but I don't see 1400 years of Islamic aggression towards other societies coming to an end in the next generation or two of Muslims, but I do see that time span as the window available to us to decide their ultimate fate, or them ours.
